The uniqueness of the system is that bikes can be dropped off and picked up anywhere by controlling them via an app. two operating companies will offer a total of 400 bikes. One company’s bike rental price is $1 for 30 minutes, the other is $1 for unlocking, and $0.15 for every minute thereafter.
During the experiment, the Department of Transportation will carefully evaluate the companies’ compliance with user data accessibility and privacy requirements. Evaluation criteria will also include the bikes’ safety, affordability, and durability. During the evaluation period, the Department will also determine future steps, including the possible implementation of pilots in other areas.
