The Xpeng X2 is the name of a new Chinese electric-powered vehicle ( flying car) that conducted its first pilot flight in October 2022 in Dubai.
It is equipped with an obstacle detection radar system, can use a parachute, and automatically determine the situation when it is necessary to use it.
The flight took place at the Gitex Global 2022 exhibition in Dubai and was carried out by the XPeng company.
The electric car can hold up to two people, the flight speed is 130 km per hour, and the duration is up to 35 minutes with a full charge of all batteries.
The creators of Xpeng X2 claim that the maximum altitude of the “flying car” is 975 meters, but, most likely, it is better to fly up to 90 meters in an urban environment. In other words, the X2 was created for short-term flights, for short distances within the city.
The flying car has a lot of electronics with which the driver can control the flight manually or start the automatic autopilot mode. The Xpeng X2 is designed so that the pilot only has to press one button to take off and land the flying car.
It should be emphasized that the flying car does not produce emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during flight, which is an important step towards the development of eco-transport in the world.
The length and width of the car are about 5 meters, and the height is 1.36 meters, the mass of the flying car is half a ton.
The vehicle and all its elements are made of carbon fiber.
Expected date of release of the car is 2025
